SentryCon was held in Biloxi, MS this year April 12th to 14th. Over the past 22 years this event has become a must attend for SentryNet dealers. For some it is the only conference they attend every year. Known for its education sessions and one on one contact with industry vendors, it has also become known as the place to network with other industry professionals. This year over 200 industry professionals were in attendance to discover what is new in the industry and how to use it to grow their RMR and their businesses.

Attendees were greeted with perfect weather the first morning as 5 fishing boats sponsored by DSC left the dock and 4 golf teams played at Shell Landing with Telguard. SentryNets vendor partners line up each year to sponsor the activities included with the event. It has long been the motto of the company to Work Hard, Play Hard and at SentryCon they get to do both. Select SentryNet Dealers gathered in the afternoon as part of the Dealer Advisory Board. Their aim to provide feedback on ideas on the SentryNet initiatives. The first day ended with 143 attended the ADI sponsored meet and greet event. This year the group went to see the Biloxi Shuckers versus the Pensacola Wahoos at MGM Stadium.

The fun wasnt over but following breakfast sponsored by Uplink the attendees had to report to class. Sessions were informative and interactive throughout the day. Ken Countess of The Countess group steered them in the right direction for building their social media network. The Miami Vice SentryNet Sales Team spent some time going over all the services provided and how they can grow RMR. Video vendors, Hikvision, I-view Now, and Videofied gathered to discuss how their products are being used in the market today. Following the southern lunch sponsored by Honeywell, attendees were shown what Attrition is and how to defeat it by Bob Harris of Attrition Busters. The final session of the busy day brought together AAA Security, All Safe Technologies, and Kerr Security to discuss some of the best practices in the industry.

Following a day full of classes, it was time for a break as the vendors were given their opportunity to shine. 14 industry leading suppliers were on hand to answer questions and demonstrate their products. To end the day SentryNet celebrated its 30th anniversary with their annual social event. Cohosted by Hikvision they delivered attendees back to 1987 with bright neon colors, video games, music videos, mullets and the works. Musical guests, The Molly Ringwalds kept the guests dancing until the pizza delivery guys showed up. It was truly a night of remembering where we came from and socializing with those that have made the journey with us.

Entering the last day attendees attended vendor led classes on the various products and services that are hot in the market now. This knowledge will help them go home and sell, install and grow their RMR. When the event concluded the top three attendees whom had participated in Gamification using the SentryCon App were awarded boom boxes. The event also raise 4600 dollars for the National Autism Association via a silent auction. Items were donated to the auction by Stanley Black and Decker, Telguard, American Electronic Supply, and Honeywell.

SentryNet believes that their dealers are family and has always treated them as such. The staff, dealers and even vendor partners play a part in this big crazy family. SentryCon is in a way like their family reunion each year, bringing everyone together to catch up on what everyone is doing and then go back out and be successful. This was summed up best by one of the attendees, KM said, I have several monitoring stations trying to get my business now more than ever. They are all promising me the moon, but not one of them made me feel like FAMILY. You are so right about SentryNet being FAMILY. I am glad to be part of this FAMILY.
